I’m a strong believer in trusting your gut instinct, your intuition. In trusting those thoughts, feelings, visions that come randomly and sometimes don’t appear to make any sense. I believe in acting upon them regardless as I trust that the Universe, my spirit guides and my higher self are fully aware of why I need to act in that moment.
Have you ever acted on that thought and it’s almost like you are functioning at a different level, almost robotic in nature? But for some reason you feel driven to carry it out, whatever ‘it’ is at that time.
I’d like to share a couple of examples of these random acts to explain why I so strongly believe in them.
A couple of weeks ago I was meeting with my Realtor to view a couple of properties, I was early and decided to stop and get myself a hot drink and a snack for the road. Everywhere I drove for my snack, I seemed to simply drive by, thinking that perhaps there was something closer to my meeting point with her. I began to get frustrated as I recollected some of the places I could have stopped to get what I wanted. Finally I stopped at Starbucks, honestly as a last resort and it was now the closest place to where I was supposed to meet my Realtor.
As I line up at the drive through and place my order, I notice 2 cars in front of me a very good friend, Rustie, I become excited to see her as she has been on vacation with her daughter. While waiting in line to pay and receive my goodies, I call her. She answered as she was leaving Starbucks, I was screeching down the phone with excitement of seeing her (this was the second time I had been drawn to Starbucks and Rustie had been there!). The lady in front of me in line received her order and left. While still on the phone with Rustie, I reached out to pay for my drink and snack. The gentlemen advised me that the lady in front of me had paid for my order! “What” I exclaimed, “What are you talking about?” He explained that the first car (Rustie), had paid it forward to the next customer, she in turn had paid it forward to me. This was amazing, so I offered to pay for the person behind me and offered my change as the tip! Rustie and I agreed to meet at a nearby parking lot, I hung up and I waited for my order.
I was elated, what a beautiful way to begin the day. People paying kindness forward to each other. I stopped briefly to say HI to Rustie and her daughter and we shared hugs and made plans to see each other. The rest of my day flowed so beautifully.
All I had to do was listen and follow where I was being led!
Fast forward to today, March 25th.
While I was loading my car in preparation for my day, I felt the need to put the magnets back on the side of my car. A few weeks ago I removed them from the outside of my car, they were muddy and dirty from the salt and sand. The signs have been in my car on the back seat since then. No real reason for replacing them, just a feeling. I cleaned them off and placed one on each side. I thought nothing more of my choice to follow through on the guidance.
I stopped at the post office on my way to my studio. As I came out and walked to my car a lady approached me and asked for my card. We introduced ourselves and began to talk about her dog, what my services were and then continued to share how we each live a clean and holistic life. She even mentioned the name of a lady that many people in the area have suggested I connect with. It was a wonderful and unexpected conversation. She took my card and intends to call me to set up an appointment for her elderly dog.
After she left, I pondered the whole experience. And as happens with me, I replayed my morning events, how I for no apparent reason, put the magnets back on the side of my car and if they hadn’t been there I would not have had the pleasure of meeting this lovely person in the parking lot at the post office. The rest of my day flowed beautifully and I continued to chuckle to myself all day as I thought about how it had all played out.
Who knows what the day may bring when you act on random thoughts and follow your guidance!
